My client wanted a MacIntosh style bedhead to match the rest of the bedroom decoration. With a deep bow towards Mr. Charles Rennie MacIntosh (all the way from the knees down) I set out to come up with a design.
Every segment of the decorations will be an individual piece of wood. The roses are made of timber of an apricot tree from our garden which was badly diseased and on its way out. I kept the nicest pieces to use in future wood working projects, e.g. in this case I will use it to carve out the individual petals of the rose for this bed head and dyed to enhance the natural tint. The vases of pieces of oak and ebonized. All of them inlaid.
