Abri pour une porte d'entrée

Existing steps to be converted in a place to relax when it is to hot to be on the other side of the house.

During the last summer a lot of heroic work was carried out by the owner, his son and his cousin to prepare footings, pour concrete, shovel gravel, lug heavy bricks, make mortar and discuss all the intricate steps to be taken. There it was; a neat verandah. Now the ball is in my court.

In French rural architecture there are not many examples of such porches and if they do exist, they are usually quite simple and more often than not just a capping bracketed above the door. The idea is to make it match the building as much as possible, using old beams where possible (if available) and try to get the rendering as close as possible to the existing rendering on the house.
