We made it.
June last I landed in Toulouse and a couple of weeks later managed to find CDG
Airport in Paris to pick up my wife and dog. After that we stayed on a donkey farm
near Chalabre for a while. A while later we moved to Limoux. Now in September
we will move in to a house which we found, but not until we had traversed the
entire countryside between the Montagne Noir and the Pyrenees north to south
end the Corbieres and St.Girons east to west. Cambieure it will be. We have
seen a lot lately. The landscape changes just about every mile and it is all
beautiful. We spent most of our time in the Aude and some in the Ariège.
We will be as
busy as the proverbial in the next few months to get our house in order. That
includes all the paper work, business planning- and implementation etc. The
idea is to establish a wood workshop as I had in New Zealand and a printing
atelier for graphic art, all in combination with a chambre de hôte. We got a
good three quarters of an acre garden to tidy up, in the house a lot of
modifications and renovations and not to forget to set up a workshop and
atelier in the 135 meters square barn at the back of the house.
We will work
hard and hope to have the entire show up and running by 2009. In a few months
time I hope to set out more in detail how it will fit all together and I will
be ready to organise courses and have the workshop and atelier available for
those who would like to spend some time in this part of the south of France and
at the same time turn their hand at art, woodblock printing, etching and
woodwork.
